Meet our Physiotherapist

Physio therapist Kavita NallaThamby

BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (HONS), ASIA METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

Kavita has been working in The Play Project for more than 2 years. Before that she worked in a center for special children in Penang where she was designing therapeutic programs to assist children in overcoming motor delays. She did her clinical training in Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH) in India

“It’s a great experience working with children and I’m passionate about helping them. From the experience I have gained, I have learned to be more patience and I became a more creative person to entice the children to cooperate in the therapy. I also enjoy to work together with the family of the child to evaluate and interview family and perform physical examinations to diagnose the source of the child’s movement difficulties or other physical challenges.

I wanted to become a psychotherapist because a physiotherapist improves the quality of a person’s life without the use of drugs or surgery and helps them to achieve their personal highest standard of living.

Over the years I have learned a lot more then the physical part of my work. Children tend to challenge us on many levels I have learned to enjoy each one of them with their own unique characteristic. It’s great to see them become stronger more independent and gain the confidence to learn more. That motivates me to learn more and go further. The Play project gives me that opportunity as The Play Project always looks for new ways to bring in new therapies to help the kids”.
